Lena Horne - Actress and singer (1917–2010) was born in Brooklyn, New York. She left school at age 16 to help support her mother and became a dancer at the Cotton Club in Harlem, and was snapped up by Hollywood. She later sang at Carnegie Hall and appeared in such films as Stormy Weather and The Wiz. She was also known for her work with civil rights groups, and refused to play roles that stereotyped African-American women. This show is a celebration of her magic.

Julez Hamilton - Jazz, musical theatre and cabaret singer who has performed in the USA, France, Holland, Russia and South Africa. Here at home, Julez has brought her talents to Ronnie Scott’s, The Battersea Barge, The Pheasantry, The Ritz, St James Studio Theatre and two sold out shows at The Crazy Coqs.

 

Gary Bland - West End and film performer, Gary has been in the film Les Misérables, and several theatre productions including Hedda Gabler, Epidemic (produced by the Old Vic), and Cinderella at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Gary has also played lead roles in diverse musicals such as Damn Yankees and The Baker’s Wife, as well as performing solo cabaret at Le Crazy Coqs in 2015, and again on 22nd November 2016 with his new show, Love & Hindsight. Gary has recently enjoyed a critically acclaimed run at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe, with his show, Mr Romantic: A Tribute to Johnny Mathis.

Mark Farrelly (Director) - Credits as an actor include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Trafalgar Studios, and his own solo play Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope, which he recently performed at the Arts Theatre in the West End. He will shortly be returning to the Arts Theatre to perform his other hit solo play The Silence of Snow. markfarrelly.co.uk

C. J. Welsh (Musical Director & Arranger) – CJ studied composition and arranging at university with Canadian jazz practitioner, John Warren, and has toured with jazz musicians such as Digby Fairweather, Bruce Adams, Roy Williams, Pete Strange, and Jeff Hooper. Jazz festival performances include Birmingham, Brecon, Corsham, Holy Island, Keswick, Llangollen, Peebles, Prestatyn, Preston, Torfaen, and Whitley Bay. Bands include Newport Musicians' Union Big Band, New Orleans Welsh Connection Jazz Band, and Carole Clegg & Speakeasy; CJ was also a founding member of NYJOW. Jazz recordings include Old Wine, New Bottles, When We Were Six, and Gospel Trax. Recent theatre work as a musical director and pianist includes The Wiz (People's Theatre), Full Circle (Cockpit Theatre), Godspell (People's Theatre), Musicality (Lost Theatre), Aurum (Dolman Theatre), Closer Than Ever (Peter Sarah Theatre), And The World Goes Round (Peter Sarah Theatre).
