Laura has chosen artists she's worked with on her own live shows who are all outstanding musicians in their own right. Much like Laura's penchant for drawing from multiple influences and music styles, each night will feature acts drawing from across soul, jazz, classical, funk and hip-hop. These Selected artists have inspired Laura through life and in music. 

LONDON CELLO QUARTET

London Cello Quartet was formed in the spring of 2016 and brings together four of London's most dynamic male cellists currently active on the London music scene. Their repertoire consists mostly of innovative takes on music by existing and well-known composers or artists and their EP is available on SoundCloud. 

 

MISS BABY SOL

Miss Baby Sol, British Jazzy Soul artist born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has worked with artists such as Paloma Faith and Florence and the Machine as a backing singer. She began work on her debut EP 'Before I Begin (The Journey)', which was released in January 2011. Her music is influenced by artists such as Nina Simone, Eartha Kit, Grace Jones, Billie Holliday and Sarah Vaughan and covers powerful Soul and Reggae.

 

KARL RASHEED ABEL

Karl Rasheed Abel started playing electric bass at 15 and after several years of primarily self-taught studying he took up double bass to explore the sound and feel and have a deeper understand of the history of the instrument and it’s role within the jazz idiom. Later studying at Berkelee, Karl undertook further jazz and music training before returning to the UK and starting professionally performing and recording in London and around the world. Having played for 6 years with artists including , Karl realised that he wanted to truly express himself, explore and create different avenues of improvised music, Karl recently sought to do so personally through his own music with musicians who had the same ethos and approach to the art form.
