We are excited to introduce two pioneering musicians from the next generation of jazz: Harry Ling (a.k.a. Mackwood), a London-based drummer and producer known for his work with Levitation Orchestra, Miller Blue, and Nardeydey, and up-and-coming Afro-Caribbean trumpet player Joti. Joti is quickly making a name for himself in London's jazz scene, and his live performances feature high-energy compositions and wonderful solos!

 

Mackwood

Harry Ling, a.k.a. Mackwood, is a London-based drummer and producer behind projects such as Levitation Orchestra, Miller Blue and Nardeydey thanks to a hybrid discipline of improv, beatmaking and production. An emerging alumnus of the acclaimed Tomorrow’s Warriors and Guildhall Jazz programs, the last year has seen a run of exciting collaborations including Jordan Rakei, Col3trane, Nilufer Yanya, Cassie Kinoshi, Charlie Stacey and many more.

Joti

Joseph is an Afro-Caribbean trumpet player raised in London. He has a strong passion for jazz music and is an up-and-coming artist in the London jazz scene. He recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he honed his skills in jazz performance, particularly improvisation, composition/arranging, and large ensemble playing.

Heavily influenced by Gospel, Afrobeat, funk, fusion, and highlife, Joti's live sets are known for bringing high energy and an uplifting atmosphere to the audience. He has already performed with artists such as rapper Sampa the Great, the Steam Down Collective, and singer/songwriter Celeste.
