“A true star in the making. Noemi has grace, style and elegance, but most important of all her voice illuminates any room. A must to see.”

Alex Lloyd, Jazz FM

Tonight will be a celebration of Noemi Nuti’s latest album, Venus Eye, on the Ubuntu Music record label. Noemi Nuti is a well-esteemed London-based jazz vocalist, best known for her Brazilian-influenced debut album Nice to Meet You that was A-Listed on Jazz FM in 2015.

Noemi’s vocals are characterised by a wide-ranging, expressive honesty combined with agile technical skill. She has collaborated with many artists and toured nationally and internationally since the release, also becoming the lead vocalist in Andrew McCormack’s Graviton.

Her music celebrates the art of song-form and fuses within it elements from the great singer-songwriters (Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Billy Joel), with improvisational elements of modern jazz (Esperanza Spalding) and colours, textures and rhythms from her favourite Brazilian artists (Jobim, Joyce Moreno, Djavan and Milton Nascimento).

Noemi’s musical personality has always been characterised by a fusion of Mediterranean and metropolitan sounds. She started her journey at eight years old, studying folk harp in Italy to then receiving a BA in Music from Brunel University on classical harp. Her fascination with jazz started in 2008 when she joined “Jazz Alive”, a project for young musicians led by Tomorrow’s Warriors (ESKA, Gary Crosby, Soweto Kinch, Orphy Robinson).
