"Superb interpretations ... impressionistic, floating, wildly romantic. Moule really finds the soul of her instrument on this outstanding collection "

Peter Quinn, Jazzwise

Celebrating the Femme Fatale in all her feisty glory, this two-hander for voice and piano conjures up the atmosphere of a 1950s New York night-club and mixes songs with pithy spoken vignettes.  The songs are by Fran Landesman & Simon Wallace, Anthony Newley & Lesley Bricusse, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Leiber & Stoller, Johnny Mercer & Harold Arlen, Jacques Prévert, Bob Dylan, Ida Cox and Willie Dixon.  ‘Songs For Scarlet Women’ questions what makes a ‘femme’ into a ‘fatale’, challenging our preconceptions of what that title means.  Between numbers Sarah takes a look at her favourite ‘bad girls’ and finds there’s more to them than meets the eye.
