Much lauded by Robert Elms and Craig Charles on their respective radio shows, in partnership with Hampstead Jazz Club we proudly present a unique and fabulous night of smokey blues, raw funk, blistering reggae and silky soul sounds from this long established and amazing live band led by the indefatigable showman Emrys Baird.

Celebrating their debut vinyl album release “Back From The Brink” on Lateralize Records, Jonathan Wingate, BBC presenter and music journalist will be talking to the band about the album before the show.

"You guys are fierce! "

Tonight the band will be celebrating their debut album release on Lateralize Records joined by legendary Trojan recording artist Freddie Notes (who guests on the album) and guitarist extraordinaire Ciyo Brown. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Freddie is regarded as the first Jamaican ska/reggae artist to come to London in 1964 and success soon followed when his band The Rudies recorded for Trojan Records. Hits came thick and fast… “Return from South Vietnam”, “Down on the Farm”, “The Bull” and the global smash hit “Montego Bay” making The Rudies the most in demand reggae band of the day. Ciyo Brown too is one of the finest soul, jazz, reggae guitarists in the UK and a top MD for many acts. This is a potent combination, expect the unexpected!
