Taking inspiration from Dexter Gordon and Woody Shaw’s live album of the same name, the Homecoming Quintet pays tribute to two of jazz’s most influential figures. Led by Damon Oliver and featuring an outstanding lineup of musicians, the band’s smart arrangements of songs from Dexter and Woody’s most celebrated albums fills the room with infectious joy, recreating the excitement and swagger that these two titans of jazz were so famous for.
