Having recently stormed the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Party and 'Kendall Calling' we are delighted to host The Plimp Souls definitely ones to watch! Manchester born heavy-funk/soul band The Plimp Souls are brought together by one vision: to play a fresh blend of authentic raw funk. This tight, nine-piece ensemble brings a new twist to the scene. The Plimp Souls are diggin deep into their vaults to bring an exciting selection of rare Funk & Soul to PizzaExpress Soho Jazz Club. Their mixture of rare funk, authentic soul and upbeat grooves will definitely leave you wanting more.

Their goal is to break the mould of the usual "funk 'n’ soul band" and play a live selection of the rarest covers & rawest originals; compiled from the vaults of DJ Simon Ham’s (You Dig?) 45’s record collection. With their members having performed and recorded for many years in some of the UK’s most iconic venues, The Plimp Souls' superb sound, infectious grooves and well-sculpted songs leave their audiences shrieking for more.
